A matching pillowcase using a brick pattern. Fabric was a pre cut from Walmart that I prewashed, so most of the time was spent trimming threads!

Well, it's Sunday now, but yesterday I was working on a wool applique table runner for my SIL. It's been a challenge with a few new-to-me techniques, but it is coming along nicely. Thanks to advice on this board, I spray basted it (easy peasy!) and then FMQed the background and border. Oh, yeah, I tried to make a label for the back, but my persnickety printer refuses to print it. No worries, I will do it by hand. Earlier this week it looked like this.

Wish I were sewing today - drizzly here.
But out of town for a week looking after daughter's teenagers, Newfoundland dog and bird. Certainly have a stash to whittle down. But later

My sympathies go out to your husband and you. It is not easy.

    God bless.

On Saturday, I was on duty at our gallery as our fibre arts group is having its annual exhibition. I made 28 coiled rope bowls this year and have sold 10 on the first day of opening. This has encouraged me a lot.I enjoy making them but relaxing now that it is Sunday. I am trying to find a good pattern for two jelly rolls that I purchased. So far, I am hard to please...

That was then, this is now - Sunday. My project(s) yesterday were to assemble a few blocks, pull some hair, utter wordydurds under my breath, then made a quick trip to Jo Ann's for some small-print black fabric which will be needed for the contrast blocks on said quilt. (had to get all that remained on three bolts to make up what I needed). Tossed it in the wash while I checked mail and social networks, resuming blocks after supper - and pulling more hair. EQ6 and I are not getting along well on this one. Have finally decided that it's not for show anyway, it's going to live in the camper, so leave the hair intact and enjoy. Have been packing for an up coming camping trip this morning, but the humidity from last nights' rain is already stifling. (But yeah for the rain!) Headed toward the cutting table to cut the new blocks. Don't want to awaken the late sleepers in the family by running the machine.

I just finished making cushion covers for son's built in dinette. Have not made these for years and boy, did I make mistakes. The best one is sewing the zippers on the front of the cushions instead of the back. Son was most understanding and since they were under the table, no one saw them anyway. YIPPEE! Now back to quilting and sewing new clothes for a 10 day fall trip to Boston. You know, the fun stuff.
