I'm just checking in, but I've been quilting for a while this afternoon. I'm machine quilting a quilt top that my Grandma hand pieced probably 20 years ago. It's quite large and it's giving my upper body a workout trying to get it to move through my machine, even with its 9" arm. The quilt is going to live with my Mom when I get done with it and I'd really like to move it on soon.

Ok, so I figured out that that white line isn't the selvedge...sure, I didn't completely cut that end off, BUT...it's not the selvedge that's causing the white line; it's the 'wrong side' of the fabric folded back from my "seam pressed open." Oh well.
On another note, I've got the binding on, and 2 sides left to sew. No, I'm NOT hand-stitching the back...because I don't wanna. BUT, what I have discovered from doing both of these quilts is that a 2 1/4" binding strip is simply not big enough because so much of it gets taken up from going around the batting. I think next time I'll add 1/4 or 1/2" to my binding strips. Pics later after I've done more. Taking a break, and I think I have nothing for dinner, so I'll have to go resolve that :P

have quilted the borders so only fmq to go. I know it won't take me too long to do it I just don't enjoy it (cos I am not very good at it). Not going to start tonight will get to it tomorrow morning. My DD came over but had been busy all day so was too tired to concentrate so we will do it tomorrow instead. Lovely work everyone, I am going to take a picture tomorrow and I WILL get it to post. Thanks again Rachel for organising this I really appreciate it, and always get so much done.
Dottymo yes I agree being able to check in and see everyone's progress makes me keep going when I would prefer to be reading the papers. Have just made a cup of tea and am about to delve into the Sunday Times. Night all

I did get 19 of 64 blocks pieced for a quilt I am making for my daughter to give to her favorite teacher. I hope I can get this done before school is out. I wish I wasn't so slow. I do have all cut out and ready, just keep putting off working on it. I am glad I have VQD to get me motivated and at least got this much done.

Virtual Quilt Day didn't work out so well for me. I have several UFOs that I wanted to quilt but my sewing machine is fighting needle and thread to keep me from them. I finally gave up and will be playing video games the rest of the day but I want to wish you all the best and cheer you on! You're doing great! Keep Quilting!
