    Hi all,
I'm on the look-out for a pattern for an Itsy-Bitsy Box - or it could be called an Itty Bitty Box. The one I saw at a recent quilting bee day out was a fabric covered container - about the size of a tin can - but I'm sure you can all imagine it is fabric covered over pieces of card.
Anyway it seems to be, say a rectangle, all stitched & turned, then a piece of card is pushed in, then a stitching line across the way, then another piece of card etc. Its all stitched together to make a sort of round container - at this point with no lid or base. Somehow a piece is fitted into this to make a base, but this base can flip up as well - because the whole box folds flat to take home with all your itty-bitty sewing scraps in.
I have done a Google search & had no joy finding anything so maybe one of these readers will know what I'm talking about. Thanks

I did a tute on a fabric covered workbox. It isn't exactly what you are looking for, but you could look at the general method, and make your own. The rule of thumb is that whatever sixe your card for the outside piece, make the lining card 1/4in smaller. Cover each of them individually, usually with some batting behind your fabric, then glue lining to outside, then sew up the box. Hope that helps.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for - go to UTube and type in gifting boxes - they have some wonderful Demonstrations and you can adopt to size - hope this helps

I tried the "gifting boxes" & no joy so will have another think about this. I will try & post a query in the next quilt newsletter sent out & see how I get on there. Thanks

Ohh I hope you find out how to make that! I have a few messy sewers that come to my sewing group that could really use that!
I'm thinking of making those trays that have ties in the corner so that I can put a square box in the center of each table and have them put their scraps in it... then untie them when they're empty and chuck them... It might encourage the messy ones to not be so messy - or I will have spent a day making fabric boxes lol.
