I know when I made my GFG the hex's were not that small, and it took me 9 months from beginning to end, but that was almost everyday working on it. I still have a quilt that keeps getting off and on the frame, Next year I'm determined to finish it. My last HQ'd quilt was for the 2014 Quilt for quilters swap. I put lots of hours doing it. I love seeing a quilt hand quilted. As far as price, it's what you feel your time is worth. For me, if it's not family, then you're going to have to pay. If it's for family or a very good friend, then my time is my gift ( but if you want to pay me something then i'll accept it). I know one thing, people feel intimidated when you advise them the time it takes to do one, and then they don't want to pay. My figure on that size of quilt would be around 700-1000.

You are very brave, but then I've only hand quilted one quilt, over 25 years ago for my daughter, the one and only full size quilt I have hand quilted, then carpal tunnel prevented me from doing any more quilts that I hand quilted, I learned to machine quilt.

If someone asked me to do it, and I had no idea what to charge, I'd give a figure I could live with good bad or otherwise. $800 was my thought. If they thought that was too much, that would be fine with me - no quilting. If they wanted to go with my price, I'd do the best job I could no mater how long it took...

God Bless you and Good Luck! I'm a hand quilter and I know what this will take, however, you were smart in the way you are quilting it. No matter what you charge, it is never enough if it is hand quilted.
