I have only been FMQ(ing) for 5 or so months. It has been hit and miss. Just within the last week something "clicked" and it looks really good! I am getting the speed control and hand speed in sync. This is so so cool!!
Another thing that helps is wearing my rubber grip gloves. And I went to Joann's bought a thick gauge clear vinyl. Then made my own Supreme Slider. That has made all the difference with FMQ. Woohoo!
My edit: Now I just feel like staying home and quilting...do I really want to go to work ...A Big Fat NO!!

I love it when all the ingredients start coming together! Love it when quilters keep having fun!

Woo hoo! I suppose it's like the "Runner's High" they talk about... not that I would know anything about that...too busy sitting in front of the sewing machine to run LOL.

Well done - I have some Machingers gloves and they are great - if it's too hot for them, I use a few finger cots.

Fabulous! That just sounds wonderful! I'm so happy for you! I think there is just a point when all things will click. I'm happy that you kept trying!

or cut the fingers off yellow rubber gloves. I take a box of fingers to all my classes. They give me a little more freedom in feeling the quilt.
