Janome 300E - $199!!
I just purchase my first Janome embroidery machine from Hancock Fabrics. From what I have researched, this is a great deal and a great machine. Not all stores have this machine in stock, but they may be able to get them from other stores.
Any advice for a new user?

Not to be a "Debbie Downer", but please do some research on this machine, from reading recent reviews it seems it may be out dated in terms of current technology. I found this:
Outmoded
This machine is from 2005 and is outdated. The Compact Flash card is a dead technology. It's max on this machine is 512mb. I can't imagine why anyone would pay so much for such an outdated machine. I could understand it if you already have Janome CF cards, but there are newer technologies that you can use to get those designs onto your HD. I would buy this if the price reflected the age and technology issues. I think $400 is about right for this machine.
So $199 looks to be a great price, but what exactly are you getting for your money?

Seems to me that one person on the internet said this was outdated. Can you get a machine that is more up to date? I'm sure. Do you have a machine that does embroidery? You do. Do you have a machine that owners seem to like very much? You do.
I don't have an embroidery machine nor have ever been interested in it. But if I saw this for $199 I would jump at it.
Congratulations on your find! Enjoy!
