I have been watchin on Craigs List for a sewing table and came across this - Janome 6500 Sewing & Quilting Machine With Custom Made Table - $650. It was listed last week for $800.00. I have a Janome Harmony 8080 and absolutely love it. The table is one her husband made her a formica top and looks pretty good. What do you think... is it a good deal?

I like my Janome 6500. Very similar to the 6600 with one or two features missing... start and stop button so you can sew without the foot pedal and ofcourse the 6500 doesn't have the Accufeed system.

6500 new in these parts cost 1800.00 three years ago. They have a new top of the line machine coming out in May so there will probably be a big dip in prices on both the 6500 and 6600.

Will she let you turn on the machine and sew with it before you buy it?

I love my 6500! The price seems fair.

I bought a used J 6500 , 2 years ago. I love it. Has the extra throat space for quilting. I paid $800. If you can try sewing on it first.

I sold my Janome 6500 to a friend, who is now getting a error message of INT. Anyone ever get this message. She has the manual but called to ask if I knew what it was.

I love my J 6500 and J 1600. I am aware of the new J 7700. If you can save to get that machine, I would. But, the space and features of the J 6500 is great for quilters. I think the price is good, but I agree with the other lady that suggested testing the machine before you buy it. Good luck!

I have looked all through my manual. I can't find anything about that message.

I have a 6500 and love it. There is so much throat space for quilting. I have recommended a Janome to many people. I'd like to upgrade, but this one has been such a workhorse so for a while I'm keeping it.
