I've had my 6600 for almost a year, and truly love it! The only downside for some people would be that it is not a free-arm machine (which does not matter to me since I have an old machine that is free-arm). I bought the needle plate for straight stitch, free-motion-quilting foot and the bobbin case for FMQ (which I highly recommend).

Wanda, could you explain what the FMQ bobbin case is for the machine? I'm not familiar with any bobbin case beyond what comes standard with the machine.

And is the needle plate that it comes with not good for straight stitch? What's the difference?

    Thank you?

Jennalyn, the needle plate that comes with the machine has a hole large enough that material can get caught down in it (when you are starting to sew).

The FMQ bobbin case is wonderful! The bobbin holder is preset with a lower tension to make it easier to achieve even tension control while free motion quilting. It is easier to put the FMQ bobbin case in than to have to fiddle with the bobbin tension.

I also found a great used 6600 and love it. I use the accufeed walking foot system as often as I can....works wonderful and so easy to use. I have the 1/4" foot but had to adjust the needle to the right to get a true 1/4". It also came with the SITD foot and it's ok, but to me it didn't make much difference. I don't use the knee lifter, seems to be more of a bother and in the way. Mine came with an extension table, but I never use it....bought the table made to fit it. I will never regret the purchase, she does everything I ask of her and more.
