Default janome blue dot bobbin case

I bought this case but the packaging says not to be used in machines having auto thread cutter. Does this mean it can't be used in a 6500 even if you don't use the thread cutter when you have it in?

I have the blue dot bobbin case for my machine a 6600P which has an auto thread cutter and it does not say that on my packaging and I have used it often. Here's a pic of my package back with the part number showing for your reference. The front of the package is standard Janome OEM packaging.

Apparently, there are two types of blue dot bobbin cases, and one is for machines with thread cutters. Here's an interesting note on it, with pictures of the two types: https://janomelife.wordpress.com/201...ng-by-machine/

I never realized this before--my blue dot bobbin case is the type with the mechanism for thread cutter. It is a wonderful thing!!

Thanks for the info on the two bobbin cases! I didn't know that either! I suspect the salesperson at the store said this is what you want and I bought the right one . Always learning something new on this board!

Well! Nice surprise. I purchased this through Amazon.com and picked it up in the States. When I tried to return it, they told me that I couldn't return it from Canada (and it takes 2 hours to drive to the US, so that was out of the question.) I thought I was out of luck, when the customer service lady asked me why I wanted to return it. I told her I had ordered the wrong one for my machine. She told me to keep it and they would refund my money anyway! She credited my VISA right then. Talk about customer service!
So, I feel confident buying from Amazon.
