Would you consider this machine a lightweight? It weighs 18lbs and I know that the Jems are only 12. I'm looking for a travel machine. I think that I would really like this one. I have a Viking Emerald but can't figure out how much it weighs. I use it as a back up machine and have tried getting on the scale with it. Unofficially I think that the Emerald is about 24lbs. I wish that they would post it on their website.

I have the Janome 2008 which is an older version of what you are looking at. Love it. It does so much more and is just a wonderful machine.
