I have a little Janome Harmony and I love it. I leave it set up for quick repairs and I am also teaching my DGC to sew on it. I am having one little tiny issue and I can fix it but it's aggravating when I am working with one of the kids. Ok, this is what it does. The spool pin pops out and down on the back right side. So I have to use the small thread spools to keep the feeding of the thread consistent. BUT, I am having trouble finding a brand/type that "harmonizes" (couldn't resist) with it. I've used Gutterman, Mettler, Sulky, both in poly and cotton. Some of the thread seems too thick as it idoesn't want to feed thru the tension disks well. I'm using a 75/11 sharp needle and it actually appears too long but that's what the manual says. I'm using bobbin thread in the bobbin and the tension is just right for that.
Any suggestions? Maybe try a thread net or a stand behind the SM? I hate to have to use "extra" accessories, especially when working with the kids.
I love the machine otherwise. When it's sewing, it sews a beautiful stitch.
