Just thought that I'd vent! I purchased a Janome Rotary Foot Kit ($70.00) and I just LOVED that it had two little tractor treads on it that gluided over all types of fabrics!

    http://content.janome.com/index.cfm/...y_Even_Foot_TM

Alas, the little nylon tread on the left stretched and then broke after about 8 months. Was told, sorry....no warranty, no repairs. I loved the foot so much that I went and paid another $70.00+ for another kit. Now the same dang thing has happended (in 2 months time). HATE IT!!!

Contacted the LQS where I bought it....they said, sorry....buy a new one. Contact Janome - no answer. C'mon folks....the foot is fine, it's the freakin' little nylon tread that sucks. Just sell the treads!!!

Sigh......I now have two kits that I cannot use and the only thing wrong wtih them is a 5 cent tread!!!

    Thanks....I feel better now! :)

I have never seen this. Can you take the good tread off one and put it on the other so at least you have one foot that works?

But still - for a gadget that expensive and the sellers' attitudes behind it -

I am hoping by the time you wear out both of these treads, they start selling replacements  :D:D:D

What you need is an itsy, bitsy, teeny, tiny lug belt.

That's a pretty neat foot, especially the rolled hem attachment.
I'm going to have to seei if Bernina has an similar one. Of course, if the Janome one was $70, I'm sure Bernina has a special for $150.

I'm glad you can at least use one of your feet.

the retailers who sell feet are unlikely to assume any warranty liability. they will blame the manufacturer.

did you contact Janome by email?

i've tried sending email inquiries to big companies. i don't think i've ever gotten an answer.

i wonder if a letter sent by snail mail (with photos) might get results.
    or a phone call.

i normally discourage consumer complaint posts but this one is a bit different.

do try to call or send a letter if you haven't already. i'm sure many of us would be interested to see what happens.

Well I found it on Ebay for 59.00 but since I have a Kenmore 19233 that does take the snap on feet I have sent an email to the seller to see if it will work with my machine. Here's hoping.

Because that is one great foot.
