That is without doubt the most beautiful denim quilt ever! I made one out of embroidery samples that I had made over the years. They were all sizes and I put them together rag style and they were gorgeous.

I cut up a bunch of old jeans into 6.5" circles, 5 or 6 of hubby's old workshirts into 4.125" squares and some scraps of cotton batting into a smidge less than 4" squares and made a faux cathedral windows throw size quilt for hubby. They are heavy though so I wouldn't recommend making one larger than sofa size so it can be washed easily. They make good car quilts, stadium blankets, picnic blankets and sleeping pads for toddlers.

The needle I use are either Jean needles or TopStitch #14 or # 16, which ever I had on hand.

I just finished my second and it was easy to sew (I just did rectangles). My grandson wanted a quilt and with the way he is growing (he is 11 and his dad is 6'4"), I decided he would enjoy a jean quilt. I used all brands of jeans as the were given to me.
