I think everyone learns lessons when quilting...I found my taste in patterns and fabrics changed after I had bought and bought and have a huge stash of fabrics that now don't fit my passion for traditional reproduction quilts i.e. Civil war era and early 1900's....so I use my uninterested fabrics for charity quilts I make monthly for a church group.
Now I only buy for projects when I know what's next on the list

I love super brights. I have a terrible amount of fabric. I purged alot last year after the the great flea fisaco of'15,(cleaning lady brought fleas in the house in her vacuum). I have alot of different brights and add to it as i need it. I never bought fabric coz i had nothing else better to do that day. Only buy what you LOVE.
