Thank you for posting those links - I love the one she cut up into diamonds.

I don't care for the look of the "jelly roll race" quilt, so did not get involved, but now that I see what others have doned with it, I am interested. Love the variations.

I made one as a quick and dirty gift and the recipient loved it, but I love all these variations. I may have to try some of these myself.

Peckish, I love your quilt. I love the colors. I made one for charity & it was okay. I'd like to make another one but do a variation. Thanks for the links too

I made one for Project Linus using about 22 strips instead of 40. I wasn't real pleased with the result, so I cut it into about 5 inch strips, added a 3 inch sashing in-between each section (I think there were 3 sections so that would result in two sashing strips, added a border and voila! Much better. Don't have a picture, but it was very simple and turned out cute with novelty fabrics and kona solids mixed in.

I actually enjoy making these. One time I ended up with too much of one colour near each other, so I frogged one seam, flipped it over and re-sewed it. Much better! I do love the way Caroloto cut and re-assembled hers. I might try that some time. The reason I like these jelly roll quilts is they are mindless and I can just tune out while doing them. Sometimes I like to keep my hands busy but my mind not so.

You could cut it in squares for a rail fence block. Six strips would make a 12" block
