If I am careful with the color/pattern placement, can I make a rail fence quilt with a jelly roll? Has anyone here tried it and had success with it? I was so excited to receive a jelly roll from my sister...but now I am having a difficult time figuring out to do with it. i just want to end up with a lap size quilt to put on the couch. Thanks for any help that you can give me with this! :?:

Shouldn't be a problem - I'd just try to keep a pattern of darks and lights instead of trying to match similar colors. Of course that's only one suggestion. I'm sure the wonderful people on here will help you out - what a great forum!!

sure, just figure out how many cuts you can get out of each jelly roll. figure 40 inches long by so many length cuts. then go for it!

I just made my first lap size jelly roll quilt. I used the instructions on this QB for the super quick jelly roll quilt. It was easy and fun and turned out really good. - Cynthia
