I was wondering about this myself, and also if the designer / manufacturer makes a difference. I wouldn't expect to love each one, but most would be nice. Too bad they don't attach a little card with a pic of the fabrics.

If you go to Missouri Star Quilt Company, you get to see what all the fabric looks like in a jelly roll. I don't know if any of the other online stores have this feature. But, it sure saved me from buying an entire jelly roll or layer cake just because I liked the fabric on top!

I have just never figured out the allure of pre-cuts. To me they are an expensive way to buy fabric which may be cut a little wonky, have fabric that I don't really like and limit what I can make. Then of course I am a bad customer for these as I like to cut!

yep, people should check out the whole fabric line before they buy. A jelly roll is usually a sample of focus, blenders, etc., all from the same line.
then again, there are different kinds of rolls. some are custom blends, like themes, etc...

My Daughter bought me a jelly roll several Christmases ago . I haven't used it yet and I do need to get going on it. I have been using 2" strips in my scrappy quilts. I only buy large pieces of fabrics, usually 4-6 yards.

Talk about pre cut bundles! I just bought 4 from Missouri Star Quilt company and didn't notice the display of the line for the Iron quilter challenge before I purchased them. I was lucky that I did like the fabric line. Now the problem is to decide what to make and get it done before the deadline.

I have one...an earthtone colors one that I found on clearance for around $16.00. I plan on making a table runner and about 3 or 4 other small projects, so, I will get my money's worth out of it. They aren't something that I would buy as a rule though. Pre-cuts are something I have to be able to get at a good clearance price before I will buy them.
