I did my shopping online because there isn't a Joann's closeby. They had a $5.00 shipping deal, which I would have had to spend in gas to get there. Bought lots of flannel to make some baby and small child lap quilts. $2.97 a yard and 15% off for teachers coupon. And an Ott-Lite for $26.99 plus 15% off. Sounds good to me, but would love to be able to go to the store and actually see the fabric in person.

I bought 3 yards of 90" Warm and Natural batting. 50% off plus I used my military ID and got an extra 20% off! I was pleased. I would have gotten more batting but I didn't have a place to store it.

Had a great time---Saved $133.96 using all the usual coupons plus the 20% Memorial Day Military discount on the total purchase. Ready to start the wedding quilt for our grand daughter after my husband leaves for his Canada fishing trip. All that lovely quilting time.

I'm sorry that you don't like Joann's, & I don't prefer the coupon game either...but since this is the best opportunity I have to save money on my hobby, I continue to use them. I think that due to all the exclusions on the coupons though, that people should pay close attention @ the register. I also don't think anyone should hesitate to hand an item back to the checkout clerk and say they don't want it now, if their assumption on the sale price turns out to be wrong.
All of our LQS's went out of business at the end of 2008; only one has come back this year. Even our Walmart's no longer sell basic notions, so Joann's is it for me locally.
I'm pretty sure you can still find the other Joann topics by searching for "Joann coupons" @ the top of the page...click "search".
Best Wishes in your quilting adventures.

I don't have a Joann's near me, so no great super duper Memorial Day Deals for me... sniff, sniff, sniff. If there was a Joann's near me, I would have been there with BIG BELLS ON.
