JoAnns is getting terrible. They give you coupons and you can't use them because everything is on sale. I tried to contact the Headquarters to complain but couldn't reach them. even the girls that work there are discussed

let's please not turn this into a general bashfest.

the topic at hand is the return policy. relavant tangents are suggestions for establishing effective contact with store and corporate management.

If you paid with a credit card you can still dispute the charge until JoAnn coughs up the check

I had a problem with JoAnn's debiting my account twice and I did not get a check for the extra debit for three weeks and will not use anything but cash and have only been back to the store once in 5 months and only because i couldn't find my rotary cutter bladed in any other store.

JoAnn's anymore is getting to be a store with NO customer service. My friend bought a pair of scissors and used a coupon. when she got home she realized she picked up left hand ones. Mind you she didn't even open the package. she went right back to exchange them.

They would not exchange them. They would give her what she paid BUT she would have to buy the right hand ones again. Mind you she had used the 50% off coupon and now she would have to pay FULL price for the right hand ones.
BoTH pairs where the same brand and cost the same. They told her there was nothing they could do because she would need another coupon to get them 50% off.

She even had the reciept showing she used the coupon on the scissors and nothing else and bought them less than a hour ago.

Any time I think I might be returning merchandise, I pay by credit card. It is so much easier to let them "fight" for my refund.
However, one time I returned something to JoAnn's that I had paid for by credit card and they gave me cash - on the spot!
    I was surprised!

This is why I charge most of my things...If there is a problem, then you can go to the credit card company and put in a request for a refund/dispute and they will, in most cases give you the credit and notify the company....
