I agree, you have to know what you're looking for.

CarrieAnne hit the nail on the head. I've bought fabric from LQS (several different ones), Joannes, Walmart, Hancocks (the chain), Hobby Lobby, you name it. You have to feel the fabric, look closely at it, etc no matter where you get it. BTW the only fabric I had that has bled was from the LQS.

So, what does anyone say about that? Does anyone have real experience with fabric from Joanne's?
If that is true, I have about 30 quilts running around in different places with different people that are no good. I use JoAnn's fabric and like it. As others have said, feel it.

There's always someone who finds fault with a competitive company or one not near them. It's a sad situation.

I don't usually buy fabric from Joannes but I went today to stock up on supplies. I came home with fabric for the first time in years. Quite a few of the precut fat quarters were from Marcus, Blank Quilting and even a few Michael Miller! I was shocked, but pleasantly surprised. Paying about $2.75 per yard for these kind of fabrics is sweeeeet.

I buy from both LQSs and Jo-Anns. In fact, I just bought some more horse-themed Christmas fabric from Jo-Anns only yesterday. I used this fabric last year to make a wall quilt for one of my riding friends and absolutely love it.

Sure, the quality at Jo-Anns can be variable, but so can the quality from LQSs. I have received some free with order FQs from LQSs that were way worse than anything I have ever seen at Jo-Anns.

Never had any problems..........however there is always a first time but I think that goes to say it could happen with any material where ever you buy.

Joanns is just like most places. Look your fabric over and if it doesn't meet your standards put it back. I have used fabrics from there and never had a bit of trouble.
