I use a 3cc syringe. These are less than a dollar at any farm store. (We have goats, so I buy them by the 100 count box.) I keep a syringe in my desk drawer and one in my travel sewing bag. Makes it easy to get the oil right where I want it, and it hasn't leaked in my bag yet.

That's a great idea! What type/brand oil do you use in it? Thanks!

Congrats on your new machine. I know you are excited! Be sure and post a picture!

I learned in machine maint. workshop any name brand sewing machine oil is good quality. Machine oil should be very clear. If it has any yellow color toss it out. Sewing machine oil is made to evaporate, that's why a machine that uses it needs to have it replenished. If it didn't evaporate it would get old and sticky and really gum up the machine. Many vintage machines are a gummy mess because 3in1 oil was used. It's better to over oil a few drops then not oil.

I've now read contrasting opinions of oil versus 3-1 blend. Thank you for your advice! I'll be picking up s bottle of oil tomorrow! Any other advice for right out of the box service?
