I t could be out of alignment just enough to have it rub on something and make that sound. Get at eye level with it, move it very slowly through it's motion, and watch to see if it's hitting or rubbing something.

If it's popping off, look in your manual and see if there's a close up of it..look for a tiny screw and see if it's still in place on yours. You will either have a screw or an empty hole..look for the screw down in your machine, or call dealer and order a new one.
