Default Juki TL-2000Qi 9 Long Arm from DH for 42nd! QUESTIONS!!!

My DH has bought me my first ever new quilting machine! Its a Juki 2000Qi. I checked and its on its way and I should have it in about five days.

What kind of thread should I use in it? Just cotton or can I also use nylon thread with cotton in the bobbin or do they have to match?

What is the best size quilting needle to use for free motion work? I read a new needle for every quilt, is that what you do or do you change more often or less often?

What is the best brand of thread to buy for this machine?
    Thanks in advance everyone!

You are going to love this machine. I have the 2010q. It is a dream machine. I have a Brother and this is my
very favorite. I find that it takes any thread you want to give it. I have used Poly, cotton, etc, and different
have used different threads in the bobbin that what I,m sewing with. I do like
The best ofluck withyour new machine.the cotton from Connecting
Threads, but as I said I have not had a problem with any thread I,ve used except monofilament, which can
be picky. I,m using Sulky and am going to try others.
The very best with your newmachie. Enjoy.

I have this machine for a few months and absolutely love it. Great for making purses and going over thick seams. The second I sat down with the machine to test it I knew it was coming home with me. Any thread is fine. I really haven't FMQ much on it as I have a long arm, but I did practice a little and it stitched very well. On a domestic machine I usually FMQ with a 14/90 topstitch needle, so I would recommend trying those.
