I love my June Taylor ruler too. I also have the shape pro it cuts 2/5 inch strips fast. also love it for making 5" squares fast. we had an exchange of 5" sqaure to get ready for Pat speth from Nickel quits. love them both..

As for it being flimsy, you do have to be careful about keeping your rotary blade straight.
I agree. I find it not as accurate unless you are very careful to not let the plastic slats move as you cut. At least that's my experience. I do use it once in a while if my strips are at least 2-1/2" or more. But I still get some "wave" in my strips but I try to be very accurate when I cut.

I love the ruler too. It is a bit flimsy but it is so helpful that I'll continue to use it when I need several strips. I've always held down the ruler with two fingers pushing down the pastic next to the slot I am cutting in to help stabilize it. (And, yes, I do this without any finger protection - I live dangerously and am still a kickin'.) Today when I cut strips for a 1-1/2 inch inner border, I used MCH's idea of putting a different ruler next to the slot instead. That seemed to work pretty well. I think I just need to get more used to doing it that way and I am sure I will love it.

I have one too, went a while not using it. Now I use it alot, even cut squares with it. I like the tip to put a ruler on top for stability. I mark the lines I'm going to cut on with blue painters tape. I mark my rulers with Blue Painters tape, along the lines I'm going to cut my blocks/strips so I know they will be the size I want.

I've had one for many years and it gets a good workout for me and our guild charity quilt group. So, ABSOLUTELY!

To clarify, if I'm cutting 3" strips, I would place a ruler on the JT ruler between the 3" and the 3 1/2" slot. It works!!
This sounds like a great idea to add stability--I'll be sure to try it the next time I cut strips with the JT!
