I've never of using freezer paper. Do you print you patterns on the freezer paper? Looks like it would be to heavy to tear off. Any more info on freezer paper? Sounds interesting.

I LOVE PP! I taught a class in it at the hospital where I work. We had a co-worker that passed away from cancer, so made this quilt in her memory. "Cathy's Quilt" was raffled off and we made $1,000 to donate to the ACS. Teaching the class was challenging as the majority of the participants had never made a quilt before :? But it was a lot of fun, also. :D The gal in the picture was the lucky winner - a nurse who was also the best friend of Cathy. (I think she bought the most tickets!) She later donated the quilt to the family of the deceased. :thumbup:

It's not for everyone. I end up wasting as much fabric as I use when doing pp.

I have only done it once and hated it. What a waste of fabric and you dont get the joy of watching a block go togather.
If it was a very hard to piece block I would use it but it would have to be something I loved so much that I had to do it.
Not to mention the waste of paper also.

I love PP, and the more I do it, the better I get. I've found that ripping out only happens to me if I try to put too small of a piece of fabric on. The economy mode kicks in. We all like something different, so find your nitch and bloom!

You took the words right out of my mouth. I'm so new I squeak. I'm doing a "learn something new each block" sampler quilt. And one of the blocks I chose was the Birds in Flight block. 9 inches square and 19 pieces. Everyone of them lined up perfectly.

This is definitely my way to go.

I've never tried PP. Always thought it would be easier than regular piecing and with less mistakes. Now you've got me wondering.

I want to do a small violet wall hanging and am looking for a pattern.. My DIL's mother just moved to NJ and I wanted to welcome her with the state's flower.. I want it small but not too small..(does that make sense).for her bedroom.

I have one small pattern.if anyone has a bit larger one, can you let me know.....

As I have mentioned before, those "add a 1/4" ruler" are the best and make a world of difference in the trimming.......
actually, there is no trimming after, all is done before sewing on the line.........
