Lovely fabrics. I too have some that I have used possibly 1/4 yd of them and love them in the quilt I incorporated them in as well as the whole piece I have not cut.

I have one fabric like that - there's not even a lot of it - about 1/2 a metre. It's oriental style with tigers on it ... I've tried so many times to work it into something to no avail

I would use both fabrics pictured as backing. I think that the beauty and impact of the design and colors would be lost by cutting them up, so that makes perfect backing in my book:-)

Backing is an excellent idea. I have a two yard piece of Effervense (sp?) in a black background.

I really like the Craftsman pattern. I've used it a couple times for special fabrics.

PP ~ that's a great pattern to showcase those "special" fabrics!

A guild member had several special fabrics she could not use. They were beautiful. She had a house fire and lost those fabric. She uses her special fabrics first now. She can always buy more of the not so special to her fabrics.

I don't know how you could ever cut that, it has almost a 3-D look that would be lost! The pattern link that PaperPrincess gave would be a perfect use. Depending on how big your piece is, you could modify the pattern to a size that would work for you. I'm going to keep a link to that pattern so that if I find a "can't cut it" fabric, I will have a way to use it.

Beautiful fabric and I understand how you can't cut it up. I am sure someone on this QB will give you some great suggestions. Good Luck.
