Ditto. After watching several of Sharon Schambers videos and tutorials on YouTube and her network. I have started using Elmers school glue and love it. It washes out and comes apart easier when you need it to than taking a bunch of pins out. I used it on the binding of the last quilt I did for Christmas a king size and it worked great. The binding seemed to lay much flater and it was much easier to sew, because it was as though the binding was already sewn on. I did about 30 mug rugs and glued them, as well as the five table runners I did for Christmas. I like this idea and it really works for me.

I pinned alot when I first started. Now I only pin for tricky things (star points in particular). Pin however much you want. There is one thing to keep in mind if someone else hasn't already mentioned it. Try to keep the pins away from the sewing machine needle. I've been lucky not to be injured by flying metal (knock on wood) because I didn't take the pins out quick enought.
