    I've noticed so many times people will ask that we be kind when we look at their quilts. Why? I've been reading here for awhile now and have never seen an unkind comment. The comments are always complimentary and never negative.

    I think it is because we know where all if any mistakes and places we wish we had done a better job of - and to us they glare! So we say, please be kind and don't point those out! Of course we are our own worst critics and very very seldom are they apparent to anyone but us!

    I think people are their own worst critics-and when they are beginners, they may be feeling theirs might not be as exciting or precise as they would want. I think it is just a bit of a lack of confidence. We were all there once, and I can't imagine anyone (quilters, anyway) not being encouraging and/or complimentary to other quilters!!

    I'm kind of the opposite. I'd rather people give me honest and heart-felt tips if they see something I could do better.

    Candace, honest and heart-felt is not the same as harsh and critical==I love the first and shrivel up from the latter. And yes, I am my own worst critic--who better, I say?

    I agree, I see the imperfections and I want to know if they do to. :-)

    I think it's just a nervous response in being brave enough to post. this is one thing i like about this forum. most people here are extremely nice to new quilters just the same as to advanced quilters. :thumbup:

    My son was just asking me yesterday if anyone ever criticizes quilts on this board! I told him not that I have ever seen. And, yes we are our own worst critics.

    This is the nicest group of people I have ever been involved with! I was in a group a while back that were truly quilting snobs!! They did not allow walmart fabric in their swaps. And they openly and rudely critized others work. They went so far as to take apart someones round in a round robin because it wasn't up to their standards!! It came to me next and I was totally appalled!! There was a note with it that said;
    "I hope this is easier for you to work with that it was for me! I had to take it apart and do it over so I could add my round!"
    I LOVE this board!!! Everyone is so friendly and helpful!!
