I'm glad you all liked my quilt and thank each of you for your kind, lovely words. Yes, I do miss Vicki very much and will try to emulate her generousity. It has been so therapeutic to sew with her little blocks and think of the good times we shared.

This quilt top has a story that I'd like to share. My friend, Vicki (who had moved to Ohio) was an avid new quilter. About 2 years ago, she sent me a BIG boxes of fabrics, FQs and some precut 2" , 4" and 6.5" blocks, separated into plastic containers. She had cut a lot of blocks knowing that I can't use a rotary cutter (can't get leverage as I'm paraplegic). I thanked her for her generosity and thought she had decided not to open her online shop. She told me she thought I could use some of it for charity quilts. Within two month, she died from inoperatable cancer. She didn't tell me until close to the end.
This is a tribute to her using almost all of the 2" blocks she cut. So it is named, Vicki's Many Trips Around The World.

Sorry for the loss of your friend. A very beautiful quilt in her honor.

Your friend knew you would appreciate her work and preserve it. What a lovely friend she was and you are... I'm sure you will miss her but will remember her through that lovely quilt you made for her. I, too, am so sorry for your loss...
With kindest regards,

A beautiful quilt. You will always think of your friend and the quilt will give you comfort. I had basically the same thing happen when my cousin died from cancer. I got some of her material and cut 2 squares from each fabric and made a queen sized quilt. I have to get backing and batting and quilt it. I just look at the top and it makes me feel good if I'm down. Enjoy your quilt and fabrics
