Default Just having one of those days...

I've spent the last 3 or so days piecing a quilt and noticed that I had done part of it upside down. Now I've spent most of the day ripping the seams of 35 blocks.

The pattern had pics that went with the instructions and I did follow the pattern and the pics...BUT the pic had colors that I didn't pay attention to. Since the block, when added to other blocks, has a basket weave pattern it won't work unless done correctly.

I'm a retired counselor and I usually asked my kiddo, "so what did you learn from that?" What did I learn from that??? Pay closer attention!

Don't you just love it. Oh well...if I have to do it twice, it should be twice as pretty...that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

    Happy quilting!

I feel your pain!! I was FMQ. A lap quilt and went to fast. I had all those " eyelashes" on the back. I had to rip out half the quilting.

I think it happens to the best of us. The quilt I am on now I had a lot of ripping out to do due to my not paying attention to directions etc. Hang in there it will be worth it!!

As you sew...so shall you rip! I sewed on a border backwards this afternoon. I took that as a sign to put everything away until tomorrow! I like your If I have to do it twice, it should be twice as pretty idea.

I like your idea as well! I have a lap quilt that turned out great, only to have me sew the binding onto the front-instead of the back first. Argh! I do all my bindings by machine, due to hand issues. SO this one sits. Has been a year or so. The OCD/perfectionist in me wants to rip off the binding and start over. Not happening. Now I just need to get busy doing it by hand in small amounts, then it will get done eventually. Guess not top priority!

Don't mind doing the ripping itself. It's the time wasted doing something twice that gets my panties in a bunch.
