Default Just inherited a Janome L-392

Anyone have any information on the Janome model L-392? It seems like a sturdy machine but in all honesty I haven't touched it yet. Its been almost 2 weeks since my mother in law gave it to me. Any info is appreciated such as what kind of needles will it take? She gave me some but am wondering if Singer universal will work in Janome? Are there any quirks I need to know about? Thank you!

It takes standard 15x1 sewing needles. I wouldn't use todays Singer needles in any machine. Here is a link to the manual, scroll down it's on the right:

As far as I know, sewing machine needles are standard and will fit any machine. You will learn a lot about a machine just by using it and jotting down any questions you have. Then, you can contact Janome and ask their customer service department for advise. They may even send you a manual. It won't hurt to ask. Good luck and enjoy your machine.

I would try to find a manual somewhere on line to learn about this sewing machine.

I find that most Janome's like the Organ brand needle. Organ actually makes the Janome needles that usually come with a new machine.

Does anyone have any idea what year this machine was made? I am looking for an answer but I can't find one...
