I've never found out how long it takes to drag one out. I always throw my body down in front of the wheels before it hits the water. Man, am I sore!!

Annette, That's close. We pray for your safety. And everyone else, too. Tornadoes are ugly.

Hooked on this board? Moi? Of course, that's why I have way more time on the puter than I should. I check in here first to be sure not to miss anything. It's home for me. When I was away for the wedding stuff and my mom....I felt lost. How do people that don't have this group manage? I have lots of friends here where I live, I have lots of 'net friends, but no where else is near as much fun. I haven't even had IM on lately, except for small amounts of time.

Oh, well, there's nothing better than a shared interest to make friends. I just don't know how loners make it in the world, do you?

We join this quiltboard to make friends. I lost my mom two years this month. I know how hard it is to have some kind of like and take care of a parent. Sometimes you have more shared interests with strangers than your close friends. Does that make sense.

PJ, it makes sense to me. Maybe because I just came from a bad experience in WV. Maybe it's really just me???

Yes it does. I have 2 sisters that live about 30 miles from me. When my mom was ill we all took care of her. Since she died I hardly see them any more. Every few months we get together and go visit mom and dad (they're both dead). Other than that we have nothing in common. It's hard to talk to them anymore. If I show them my new projects I get teased for being an old lady. At least you guys understand me. That's why I love you all so very much.

I'm with you Debbie, I'm with you!! And now it's time for this 'old lady' to give up the quest for the night. I've GOT to force myself to get back on that quilt for my niece. Someone please (puh leeesssseeee) make me stay out of here tomorrow and get it working. She's getting married May 12th. Isn't that real soon??? Debbie, you have the onerous duty of telling me to shaddup and get on the quilt tomorrow, ok???

I could never tell anyone to shaddup but I will say goodnight to all. I've had a cold this last week and I took some nyquill. It's starting to kick in so I'm going to bed. Talk some tomorrow. Nite all.

I'll tell her. Sharon, Dear ... Shaddup and get back to work!

Now that i've fulfilled your request to be told, fulfill my request that you ignore it. give the girl a David's Bridal flyer and tell her to leave you alone. LOL

I could really relate to PJ's post about her mom. one of the reasons i started quilting was that i so much missed sewing with my own mother. this was a way to reconnect to those memories. we always made clothing and decorative things. now that i think of it, i'm a bit surprised we never got around to quilts. but i know she'd have loved it and if she was still with us, would have joined the fun with me (and been 10 times better at it within 10 seconds flat. LOL)

We are none of us here Old Ladies. We are old souls ... even the youngest among us. that simply means we have the wisdom to recognize those things truly most important and lots of love to pass around. we know that however much love we give, our hearts will produce more for the next person to come along. :-)
