I have three friends that have this machine and they all love it. I don't think you will be disappointed. Congratulations...I want one.

Curious to find out how wide the throat space, or from needle to the right column. Anybody know off the top of their head?

Think it's about 9"....but it's also higher so the total space is large....I've not quilted a quilt on it but I do like it. The needle threader isn't bad once you figure out how it works....most work front to back; this works side to side.....I find that the visibility under the needle is also a big help....my other machine is a Janome 9400 which I love but the bulk of the head makes the visibility under the needle a bit minimal.
