This is perfectly timed! I've been struggling with letting go of projects that I started quite a while ago and they're just sitting in tubs (carefully labeled tubs, by the way), waiting for me to finish them. I feel like they are staring me in the face, saying "You spent a lot of time and money on us. Just suck it up and finish us. You can figure out what to do with the finished quilt later." (Do your UFOs speak to you? Not all of mine are so bold. :-))

Quite honestly, some of these are in tubs because I was in over my head and messed them up so badly that I didn't know how to fix them. Others are there because I just lost interest and now they don't appeal to me at all. It's not like I have a huge number of these, but I have my fair share.

I've made a coupld of phone calls and have friends coming over this weekend to look at them and see if they are interested in any of them. I've invited them to go through their projects and do the same. What isn't taken will be used for my beginners' rotary cutting classes, my Learn your Machine Stitches classes, and for making my sample projects boards. (I like to have step by step samples of contructing quilt blocks when I'm teaching a class and I hate to use yardage that I love to do that. These pieces will work well for that.)

Anyway, to make a long story short (too late, I know), this message is perfect. I'm wanting to begin new projects but have been feeling guilty because of the old ones. I feel much better and know my UFOs will also. Repurposing works for all of us!

So true and appropriate. However, were it not for yesterday's junk, we wouldn't have anything new.

Yesterday's junk was new at one time, and is still new for some. Making something harder to understand is not always the best way to improve things!
