On Friday my husband and I drove to his dad's cabin for a LONG
weekend. When we were about 1/2 an hour from Grand Lake, CO
and still in the RMNF I told him I would like to stop at the quilt
shop in town to look for some fabrics to go with a doll quilt that
I am going to be making when we return home on Tuesday.

I asked if he was coming in with me, he said no that he didn't think
he could handle all the estrogen floating around in the store. Said
he will just wait in the Jeep for me. When I said that I will try to hurry
he laughed and said not likely to happen.

After a few minutes we wandered into the liquor store next door to
the quilt shop and picked up a six pack of beer to take to the cabin.

I was in the quilt shop less than 30 minutes, he was shocked and
even more amazed that I found fabrics that I wanted for the newest
    project.

He quite often will see unique quilts and send me links to go look
at them, and sometimes he will even send me photos of something
he likes and makes a comment put this on your bucket list to make
    for me someday.

It always amazes me when men transform from cars, tools and the pickers and notice other things - I still waiting for my husband and chances are he will only notice cars, tools and pickers junk!

When we travel to different states in our motor home he always looks up what Auilt shops are around. Then he drives me to each one so I can build my stash. Sometimes he comes in and helps me to pick material. When he gets tired he will then go sit in the car. Sometimes he will say is ghat all you bought? I will reply "for today" . I will be back again. Lol I guess I will keep him around.

Haha that is adorable My Husband acts as if he's not paying attention too and then all of a sudden he'll surprise me and tick off all of my favorite quilt teachers!

LOL--that's exactly what mine says when I make a run to Mary Jo's in Gastonia. I tend to be conservative but I see
his point. It's a 4 hr. drive from here. If you drive that far---load up!

Yes, they will surprise you sometimes with the sweetest remarks. Mine said "Want to go fabric shopping while I go to the gun show?" Well, duh, of course!

My husband actually looks forward to the show at Sauders every year. It's about 90 minutes from here, and we make a day of it, including lunch at their barn restaurant

He sits in his usual spot, and chats with the husband's and last year, he walked around and even chatted with a couple of quilting gals. Now, he assumes they put that sign there, and leave the chair open, just for him!

He and this guy found out, because of my husband's BP hat, they might have even unknowingly worked at the refinery together (he works for a contractor)
