I have a ColorScope from Cottage Mills that is about the size of a marker and has tiny mirrors inside that act like a kaleidescope when you point it at fabric or anything else for that matter. As you turn the top, the designs change, with sections enlarging and diminishing, and you can tell which color looks best as a main color and which ones should be accents. I ordered one online a few years ago but I don't remember where. It was in the $6.00 to $8.00 range. I use it a lot. I hope this description makes sense.
