Kaleidoscope quilt
http://www.craftsy.com/supplies/kaleido-quilt-kit/4919
I bought this quilt kit (this will be my 2nd ever pattern that I am attempting to follow). I received it yesterday, and realized I don't like the oranges with the purples and greens.
I'm thinking that yellow would be a better match ...
What do you gals think?

Yellow is the most visible color...think how far away we all see yellow caution lights, so use yellow carefully. The orange seems to me a more saturated color than many others in the quilt and perhaps that is why you struggle with this choice? To make this top more of a kaleidoscope you might toss in some yellow, cut down a bit on the orange and buy a couple of fat quarters of kit colors you favor, but in slightly more intense values, and toss them in judiciously? To my eyes the colors seem a bit unbalanced.

Thanks all ... yes, Basketman, that is what I am struggling with ... it doesn't seem to "flow" like I think a quilt should ...
if not yellow or orange LOL ... I was thinking of just taking the orange out completely, and doing it only in greens, blues and purples ... I like that idea too!

I like the quilt just like it is, but that's just me. I am drawn to the "zinger" fabrics, but I tend to pick out matchy-matchy which makes a nice quiet quilt. Have you actually seen the fabric yet? Sometimes the pictures are not totally accurate. Whatever you decide will be very interesting. Looking forward to a picture.
