You probably have the same rulers in your tool box but without her name on them. I have an Omnigrid 4x4, an Easy Angle right triangle, and several rulers that will show me 4x14. Her quilt is very pretty, but I don't see anything about it that can't be done with standard rulers that give those dimensions. kaylfordsollimo, thanks for the link to the qc block - that's so simple I think I can do it. I'll just use painters tape to mark my standard rulers with the cuts to make.

Don't buy the rulers!!!!! Sellers are in the business of selling their stuff. They say that they are REQUIRED so you will buy them, but you can figure this out with a couple of test blocks. Get the pattern if you like - or get one off of the internet. I'm sure there must be one available. Or draw it out on graph paper yourself. The pattern is the same pattern it's been forever. It's the colors that you adore. Copying someone else's colors show that you appreciate their color sense. There is no copyright on that. You will be proud of yourself for doing so. And saving some $$$ for fabric!

Here's a tutorial right on this board.

she did use a triangular ruler, but one of the 'common' ones, not one designed specifically for this purpose.

Great post for me as I am going to a retreat in Nov. and the block is Hunter's Star. I love seeing all the color combinations so thanks for posting all the links. Still trying to decide what to do for mine. I agree about "having" to have rulers. This is a real turn off for me with Fons and Porter as I think everything they do is based on selling their stuff.

Thank you so much for this link! I love that it includes template and paper piecing. It is the Hunter's Star with the extra triangle that I think really adds a lot. Thanks Kaylfordsollimo!
If you go here, I'll think you'll like what you see and there is the choice of templates or paper piecing.
