I went to a quilting class today and the instructor told us she makes one extra block than needed for every quilt she makes. Once she has enough she puts a quilt together, therefore having a diary of every quilt she ever made. I love this idea and plan to do the same and give them to the grandkids.

one block per quilt made? er.... what size block? Can they be 20inch blocks? If so I might be able to do this LOL!

That's a wonderful idea. Wish I'd known it before I started quilting. For a while, I was making a quilt a month. I've even lost some of the pictures of them.

Great idea. Much better than just a picture of the quilt.

Yes, very good idea. I've made lots of quilts and didn't bother to keep track of them all. Now I couldn't possibly make a list, but I wish I had. It would be nice to know just for my own knowledge.

I try to take pictures of the quilts I make. I would have a hard time making an extra block a lot of times because I use scraps to make many of them. I'm cutting it pretty close to get the blocks I need for some of them. It is a good idea though
