Default The Kindle Fire is seriously cutting into my quilting time

I love to quilt. I sew everyday. I also love to read but not everyday. I love quilting more.
However since I received a Kindle Fire for Christmas I find that alot of my free time is now reading novels on the Kindle....not so much quilting....
I hope the novelty will wear off soon so I can get back to quilting. LOL

I also got a Kindle Fire for Christmas but my quilting is still getting done. I go back and forth, it is so nice to have a couple of my favorite hobbies so readily available.

I love my Kindle...I have the Kindle Keyboard that I got for Mother's Day 2011. I read very often up until the holidays since I got so busy with family. I am sure with my up coming surgery, I will get more reading done then sewing since it will be hard to sit at the machine for too long.

    Enjoy your Kindle!

Set yourself an amount of time to spend on each and set a timer to ring at end of allotted time? I know what you mean though!

Anyone who likes to read owes it to themselves to get a Kindle. The $79 is great for reading. We have several Kindles n the house. Most all the classic books are free and Amazon has free books about every hour. I have the Kindle Fire and it does more then I need it to but I like that everything is in color.

I registered my son's new Kindle Fire yesterday. Shortly afterwards there was a noticeable groan. The suggested items for his reading pleasure were all quilting books. Ha!

    Cheers, K

I love my Kindle! (I don't have a Kindle Fire, just one of the simple models.) So handy for reading before bed. I tried a free sample of a quilting book on it, though, and that didn't work for me at all. I think for reference books such as quilting books, I'm going to stick with hardcover so I can flip to the section I want easily.

By the way, the author I work for has a book available for free right now for the Kindle. As in, zero dollars. If you love romance novels, search for Only Us by Susan Mallery.

Funny thing: I have this cover for my Kindle: http://www.lightwedge.com/Shop/Kindl...ver-Size-E-Tan It looks exactly like an old book. I left it on an end table by the sofa all during the holidays and no one picked it up thinking it was just that, an old book. LOL. I love this cover it feels like I'm holding an actual book when I read.

Reading was my favorite thing till I took up quilting/sewing again. I love my Kindle but may get a Fire soon so I can get online while in the other room. I don't find this laptop as easy as the Kindle Fire would be to move around lol I have a few bookcases that I could empty now for my fabric LOL I still read alot but not as much for sure. My daughter would love for me to do this--she gets $$ for the books. I have the cover w/a light on my Kindle so it's just like a hardcover.
