I found one at a yard sale for a Brother machine that fits my Bernina 1260. The seller said his mother had a Brother and he found it in her sewing room but had no idea what it was. I would check out the other brands of knee lifters.

Did you check with a Bernina Dealer?

If you get a used one, there's no guarantee that it isn't just as worn out. Your Bernina dealer is probably your best bet. But they are
    $40+ brand new.

Can you try wrapping one wrap of duct tape around the end? I have a Bernina 830 so I know what you mean about being lost without the knee lifter!

It could be the inside part that is worn out so be sure and check that.

Since it is a Bernina which means you need to have it service every 12 to 18 months, I would ask your service technician what is the best way to solve your problem. I seldom use my knee lifter.

Here is an auction going on located on eBay:

I will look tonight, and if I still have the one that was with my machine, you can have it for postage. PM me and I will let you know. My 930, that was my mothers hit the dust last year. Expert told me it was unfixable.

Is the cog that goes into the machine made of plastic? Mine was and all it needed was a new piece but the new one is metal. No more problems.

Lissevan, I looked last night and I no longer have the knee lifter, I guess it went with the machine. Sorry
