Default la my foot is broke

I was trying to figure out the controls from the back still don't know exactly how it happened. I flipped the switch to go from back to front and had not put needle up clipped threads anyway the machine started up and the needle went thru the plastic foot and it broke it. Has this happened to anyone else??????????

I have broken lots of needle switching from straight stitch to zig zag without changing my foot but I haven't broken a foot, yet.

I haven't broke one that way but I did break my 1/4" foot by not having it clipped on properly. Wouldn't you know when I went to purchase another one he sold me a metal foot (wonder why I wasn't offered the metal foot first time).
