    Of course quilting is alive and well. For dollars spent it's the #2 hobby in the US, second only to golf.

    I will amend my post, #6 above, to say this: Thank You to all the quilters who give of their time and talent (not to mention the cost involved!) to make quilts for the "Wounded Warriors" and all of our military persons. And to the quilters who quilt for charities of other desitinies, Thank You I want to do some of these quilts, and I just received a kit for the totes for Sadies Dream for a Cure. One day this next week I will start on this.

    Yes she can write it off on her taxes as donations. I have done this for 5 years now. Fabric , batting, and time making quilts.
