I can't help with classes but there is one person, Ruth B. McDowell. Her books are fabulous and I would suggest you look into them as a source for learning and techniques. One of her books, 'Piecing, Expanding the Basics', is page by page full of techniques and creativity. She is way out of the box creative in her perspective and if her style may not be to your taste, her teaching and techniques can help anyone become a better landscape quilt artist.
Give her work a look and see for yourself.

She is a fantastic quilter and lives in western MA. I would use her pattern as applique before she made into piecing!!

I also just got a notice that there's a live online seminar (aka, webinar) coming up titled Principles of Design in Arts and Crafts: Basic Skills for Every Artist with Lyric Kinard. http://www.interweavestore.com/princ...-crafts-ep7850 It's on July 18th, this coming Thursday.
I've taken classes from her and have her book, Art + Quilt. She's a great instructor, very personable, and really, really knows her stuff.
