That is what I have. I got mine about two years ago from a vendor on Amazon for $680.00. It normally retails for $799, but the vendor had it on sale. it only does straight stitch but that is all you need for fmq or straight line quilting. I have quilted a king size without problems.

Yesterday, after doing as much research as I could and asking here on the QB, I ordered the Brother 1500 from Walmart. Was torn at first about not buying it from a LQS, but then they told me I couldn't test drive it. It was brand new just out of the box. They also wouldn't tell me the price, except for it was a lot lower than the MSRP of $1699. Is this common?
Price was so good, and if, for whatever reason I need to, I can return it.
Just saw that Amazon has the same machine for the same price.

A different shop I go to encourages you to come in and "play". Unfortunately they don't carry the brand I wanted. I still go there for fabric, etc.

I have a Juki TL2010Q which I got back in May from Sewing Machine Plus. It's a great straight stitch only machine with 9" of throat space and comes with a few different feet and accessories. I also have the Grace Q-Zone Quilt Frame that I purchased from Leah Day. Over the course of the summer I have quilted a couple of different quilting projects both with the Juki on and off my frame and the machine works great. It is also really low maintenance. All you have to do is clean and oil it.
Good Luck with your sewing machine search.

I have one of these too, bought used and I love it. I like that the throat area is tall vs. wide. Probably same amount of square inches compared to a machine that is longer and flatter, but, I like the space arrangement better. I can get a pretty big quilt done under it. Working from the center out makes it easier with a big quilt.
