We had the most awesome speaker, Patricia Knoechel, sister of Eleanor Burns. She had some great guilts to show us, and demonstrated how to make different blocks. Eleanor Burns new book Quilt Bloacks on American Barns has instructions for both 6" and 12" blocks. I have made one of EB quilts, Underground Railroad, and someday I hope to make a quilt from this new book. If you ever have a chance to take in a talk/demonstration/trunk show with Patricia Knoechel you will not be disappointed.

This has free videos of Eleanor making all of her barn quilt blocks. She make it looks so easy! I have to keep reminding myself that I am not that good yet.

Guess what? She's at my Guild meeting tonight!! I've seen her in the past and what a show. Entertaining, educational, good fun. I'm looking forward to seeing her again.

You never know until you try it. Go for it and make one of her blocks you might surprise yourself. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
