Jan, I'll be watching this thread for a way to send Mary Ellen a card. Like everyone else, I love her approach to quilting. I have 3 of her books, and they're all well used. I can picture Holice and Mary Ellen charging down an aisle an a quilt show, arms spread wide to hug each other! Sorry I missed seeing that!

Never got to go to her classes, but attended a couple of her lectures. As others have said, she's a riot.

I often use her method for a 'flying geese' pair of blocks. Keeps the rectangle so straight and even. I love it. Saw her on TV a couple of times. She was always a fun person.

Oh -- I am soo glad to hear about Mary Ellen Hopkins. I have loved her books and enjoyed seeing her on TV. She gave me a lot of courage to do things my way and not worry about what the QP think.

I gave one of her books to my daughter -- what a great person.

I found a photo of her, from 2008. Photo taken by Jane, who attended one of Mary Ellen's classes.

I have that book. Love it and love Mary Ellen. Watched her on TV with Alex Anderson, Simply Quilts. She truly is a character. I am glad to hear she is well and happy. What a feisty lady!!

Thank you for this...She was a hoot on Alex Anderson's show. It was always a very informative session, even with them having fun.

Holice...I'm sure that the 2 of you at a quilt show was quite a riot!...it is such a wonderful way to be....

Yes, I too, love to watch her on TV she was a "hoot" no doubt! I have several of her books and really enjoy them wouldn't part with them. I even have some VHS of her when she was on the Simply Quilts.
I would like to have her address to send a card if that would be permissible.
