I too like it square, but would put maybe a med brown for a thin sashing around each block. I think that would make the blocks stand out more. As you have it now seems, IMO, to be to blended so the blocks don't speak for themselves. They are wonderful blocks & will make a fabulous quilt.

Should that be "a lass", it's for a girl? I would have loved a quilt like this when I was small. I'd probably like one like it now...

I like the offset version the best, but it's really up to you to choose the one you feel the most comfortable with.

I also like the idea of a brown sashing like the color of your table. I think it would help emphsize each of the animal squares.

    My vote is for square.

Aesthetics aside, I think the square version will function better and for a quilt that will be used to keep warm, the love between the the maker and the recipient and then the warmth (function) of the quilt are all.

I like the quilt very much.

I have to agree, the offset comes off to busy for my eyes.

I agree the blocks really need a skinny sashing around them to define them. Something that contrasts with all the green, like a cream color. Otherwise the quilt will look like a mass of green with the animals dispersed throughout. Often when non-quilters pick fabrics they have no clue about things like contrast, value, etc. They just pick what they like.

I really like both ways. Since they are busy fabrics as you had previously stated, a sashing might also be a consideration. IMHO. It will be beautiful no matter which way you finish it. Now, about that BHS........ I am so waiting for the final product. It's gonna be awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
