Left Handed Scissors
I am searching for a pair of left handed sewing scissors. My sewing scissors are and have been missing. YIKES!! My husband got me a beautiful 10 inch pair of Fiskars heavy duty scissors that are suppose to cut through several layers of fabric. But...they are right handed and I can't find them for left handers. What brand and type of sewing scissors to you left handers have? Thanks in advance for your help!!

I am right handed, so my perspective may be inaccurate. But I use and love the spring loaded scissors from fiskars (https://www.amazon.com/Fiskars-No-8-.../dp/B00006IFNC). I believe the grip would be acceptable for a left handed person, but I don't know about any other features that may need to be considered. just thought I would *try* to help.

I got myself these as a gift last spring:

They are absolutely amazing - definitely worth the money to get high quality, true left-handed scissors. They cut like a hot knife through butter.
I also have a nice pair of true left-handed Henckels, but I've had them since 1987 so I don't know where you would find them nowadays.
FYI for right handed people: true left-handed scissors are mirror images of right handed. If you set a pair of right handed scissors open on the table in front of you, the top blade will cross from upper left to lower right. On left handed scissors, the top blade goes from upper right to lower left. This allows the blades to be naturally squeezed together When cutting, and also puts the outside blade on top of the material so it's easier to follow a marked line.

Someone on the board was looking for a specific type of left-handed scissors and couldn't find them anywhere. She contacted Kai and they actually made a pair for her. She was so happy with those scissors and the excellent customer service.

Mine were a gift from my mother some 60+ years ago. They are Wiss left handed sheers. I got the for my first home ec. class in junior high school. They have been sharpened many times over the years and due again. They have a great fit and are an 8" blade. I am not sure if they are even made anymore but they were reasonable for years.
