It blends enough its very hard to pick out if you didn't know. I think it's fine, I love the quilt.

What a darling quilt! My "old" eyes can barely see the issue. Your grandson will cherish "his" I SPY!

Boy are we ever hard on ourselves! It's hardly noticeable even now.

I saw the three rules of quilting just the other day. One of them was: DON'T TELL ANYONE WHERE YOUR MISTAKES ARE. And I see you have already found this.
I really cannot find the difference in fabric, and I looked where you told me to. I looked hard!

Your quilt is wonderful. I need one like that for my new great-grandson. This is the pattern I will use. I found the I SPY fabric at Missouri Star. It was a deal-of-the-day more than a year ago, and I haven't used it yet. But I'm sure they have that layer cake in their store.

We are our worst critics! It's wonderful and I'm hoping you will one day accept the little flaw that you see.

I know the feeling! But it really hardly shows; I couldn't see it at all at first. And overtime it will not be noticeable at all. And your grandson will never notice it and will love it!

I love your I Spy quilt! I just made a similar I Spy but just surrounded the squares with sashing. How I wish I'd done the shadow boxes as you have done. So much cuter!

I had this happen to me once. I ran out of fabric and set it aside. Eleven years later they reprinted the fabric. Never occured to me that dye lots change the colors some so I purchased more. When I laid the blocks out, I scattered the new fabric ones with the old fabric ones. I love how it came out. The differences in the dye lots is really not noticeable, but it gave the quilt more depth and didn't look so flat.

When quilted, I think it will become invisible. It will be loved, and that's what's important. It's cute as can be.

I'm sure it is glaring to you, as you have been up close and personal with this quilt, however, it just looks like you have shaded the quilt from dark in the lower right corner to lighter. To me it is barely noticeable at all. Great quilt.
